Canary FAQ

Posted by Sergio D. on March 31, 2003 at 19:18:07:

I have seen my male and female parakeet mate like 7 times 2 or 3 weeks ago, and she has not layed one single egg yet. I don't think she is egg-bound because she is very active and eats and everything. I have an idea (?), and its for my 5 parakeets to go up to the attic. The attic is big enough for more than 5 parakeets, the dimensions are approximatly 2 x 3.5 meters and about 1-2 meters high. There is a small 4 x 3 ft. window, and i can open it so light can shine through (when it gets warmer, then i will open windows); will this be enough light for them to breed? Im guessing that if they don't want to breed in a cage, then i might as well try it in the attic. Is this a good place (attic)? or not? Please give suggestions and comments. Thanks, Sergio
