Canary FAQ

Posted by Karen on November 28, 2003 at 12:00:08:

I feel I have a very intelligent canary. He knows me from other members of my family.

My son wear glasses and when he goes up to him he spreads his wings and seems like he is mad. If I wear a towel on my head he get very upset.

When I give him food and clean his cage he is not afraid of me at all. I can give him a special treat and be right next to him and he will continue eating and not fly away.

Many times he goes at the bottom of his cage and tap dances and sings.

I grew up with canaries but I never saw one as intelligent as the one I have.

I guess my question is: Is this really unusual to have a canary this intelligent? Can you give me more insight on their intelligence. I love your homepage it certainly gave a lot of info.
