My poor Pavarotti died yesterday..I had taken him to the vet twice this month and he was on antibotics, the avian vet checked him over and said he wasn't a very sick bird and his liver was fine. He recovered pretty well the 1st time, but within 2 weeks he was back to his chronic condition (sitting in food dish, making hoarse peeping sounds)..2nd trip to vet, he got a shot of ivermetin because vet mentioned possible internal mites..I also got liquid batril I think it was called and he died while on this medicine. He never came thru his moult from the summer and I noticed his feathers were always fluffy and when he flew some would come out. I checked for wing lice and he didn't have any. I kept his cage floor clean with changing papers every day, fresh food and filtered water every day. But nothing I did improved his condition. The breeder I bought him from 2 years ago said that the norwiches are beautiful birds, but very fragile and not very good breeders and they aren't as healthy as glosters, which I have one of and he is thriving and very healthy...Does anyone have any ideas what was wrong with him. I did everything I could up to and including an excellent avian vet and good hygene, but he still died.....thanks Judy
