: : : I have a female canary who has been sitting on her nest for a while (fake eggs). The feathers over her chest look a little odd and I don't know if these could be feather lumps or just from rubbing on the nest? I offer her egg food & greens but she hardly touches it, sticking mainly to her seed. Can anyone direct me to a picture so I can see what feather lumps look like? And if this is the problem what can I do about it?

: : Your little hen may not have feather lumps.  She may have what is called a brood patch which a shen gets when they are in a breeding mode.  I can not tell you what either looks like.  If possible get her to either to an Avian Vet or a Canary Breeder and they can tell you what it is.
