My norwich hen Hyacinth started to wheeze late Sat nite, she wheezed off and on all day on Sunday, Sunday nite she slept without the labored breathing and started up wheezing 1st thing this morn. I brought her to my vetinarian hosp, but the 2 aviary doctors are off today. They have her in an incubator there tonite and the avian doctors will check her tomorrow. I don't think she has mites because the other 2 canarys don't and they have only been in contact with one another. Is there a kind of medication 'SCAT'? or antibiotic that birds can take for a respiratory prblm? She is the only one with this problem and I didn't want to let it go since I was afraid it could be fatal or contagious to the other birds. The vet hosp is expensive, but they couldn't guarantee me that I would be able to take her home today and have her seen tomorrow because they book up very fast. Do I have to worry about the other canarys if she does have a respiratory prblm...thanks Judy
