: This morn I took him to avian vet, news better than I expected, his liver normal good weight not a really sick bird according to vet. he put him on antibiotic and bacterial for adding into food. My vet recommends once a week for all birds a bit of organic apple cider vinigar in water, he says canarys do especially well on this. He's checking back tomorrow and if my canary gets worse will have to follow up with bloodwork for an underlying infection..........Well, I do think that your canary would need to see a Vet. : : : He seems to have normal droppings, he used to be a beautful singer, but hasn't sung since spring. He seems to stay more on the bottom of the cage and his wing feathers seem fluffed. He was moulting and still seems to be a little. I don't want to stress him by taking him to the vet unless absoulutely necessary. I did try to take away the alba proteins but he seemed not too happy with just seed when I did, so I put it back. He used to be in a cage with small bengalese finches, but always seemed to stay in the food dishes, like saying this is mine so stay away!..So I moved him to his own private cage....Well over feeding especially with soft food can make a canary lazy. Look at his droppings? Do you they look normal?
