: : : : Hello: My male canary, about 6 years old, appears to have difficulty landing on his perch and at times "wobbles" when at a feeding tray, etc.  I clipped his nails a few weeks ago thinking that was the problem but it appears not to be the case. He spends increasing time on the bottom of the cage and is unusually active at times at night (On the cage bottom). Any suggestions?  Gary

: Hi Gary, well your canary can have vision problems or neurological ones. Make sure if he or she is crested that the feathers do not completely cover the eyes and make sure that the bird receives balanced diet with essential vitamins and minerals. A third possiblity would be an overweight canary.
