: Well, the large aviary was a failure. Fighting took place. Most male canaries stopped singing. When each male was returned to its large cage (small aviary), everything was OK. Singing started and each male canary looked very relaxed and happy. My advice is never understimate the male canary territory.

Hello Amr Gohar,
I posted on your last message, but it didn't show up as a new posting. I have found that males can live together in a large cage along with females during the late summer, fall and early winter. When I begin to increase light at about the end of December, to get them ready to breed, the males will fight and they can't be kept together until the mating season is over. I put them all back together in July. They sing and are quite relaxed an happy in a large community as long as it isn't during the breeding season. My large cage is 5 feet long, 2 feet wide and about 30 inches high. I believe you tried your experiment at the wrong time of year, so don't throw away your big cage. You will still be able to use it.
