: Hi, I have a large cage (hardly and aviary) it is 5 feet by 2 feet by 30 inches high. I keep male and female canaries together in it from the time they finish nesting (about June) through the fall and early winter. When I start to increase light toward a new breeding season I find that the males will begin to fight and I put them in to individual cages with their mates. They all sing while they are in the big cage
