: I recently lost the mother to my parakeet.  I was told she was egg bound, but I now wonder.  This parakeet is only a year old & the mother died two weeks ago, she was like5-6 yrs. old.  The mother had a very red face.  Now this parakeet is developing the same red face.  Is this a disease & if so what do I do?  I can't lose this bird too.
