Canary FAQ

Posted by Jodi on May 18, 2003 at 21:55:56:

My birds(doves) laid 2 eggs. I marked on the calendar(2wks) when they should hatch and then that day came and went. The next day I put the eggs in a bowl of warm water knowing that if the eggs were alive they would move. There wasn't any movement at all. I then opened the eggs and could tell that the eggs had started to develope. My birds are on pellets instead of seed, they have a cuddle bone for extra calcium, and I change their water daily. What would cause the eggs to start developing and then quit. The birds never left the nest for longer than a few seconds.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks!
Jodi
