I have 16 birds including some parrots, so I have set up my whole finished lower
level family room with about 5 playgyms so the birds MOSTLY sit on those and don't

installed in my entire house, to avoid the carpet hassle. I put towels on the back of
the couch and chairs when the birds are out and just launder those every couple of

worth it though for them to have their freedom, and I just chalk it up to being a
bird owner. At least I don't have to scoop dog poop from my yard! I'll take bird
droppings over that anytime!

How did you get your canaries to be hand-tame? Did you raise the parents yourself
and handle them early on?
