: : The bobbing tail is not a good sign..it is called "tail-assisted breathing" and 
: : indicates respiration problems which could be a symptom of many illnesses or 
: : conditions.  I doubt this is related to moulting, unless the bird was in poor condition 
: : and the moulting just is too much for her to handle.  I would increase the heat, and 
: : probably take her to the vet.  I know this can be costly, but if she has a respiratory 
: : infection, a simple antibiotic can work wonders.  However, there are alot of other 
: : conditions she could have and diagnostic testing gets pricey, but she may well die if 
: : you don't. Is she perching up high or sitting on the floor? Is she eating and drinking?

: She is still on perch & comes down to eat and drink as usual. There is alot less poop than usual.  I don't detect any obvious breathing problems.  I've heated the cage.  She is chirping a bit more but still will not play.I guess a trip to the vet is next.  Thanks for the info.
