I give my canary, Chuck, Zupreem Fruitblend canary pellets as part of his main diet,
plus a good quality canary seed. I also moisten the same brand (Zupreem) of
cockatiel pellets with water until they are soft and puffy and he gobbles them up!
They are full of vitamins and minerals, and all my birds (16 of them) are doing
fantastic on the pellets. I have rehabbed many rescues and seen amazing health
improvements on really malnourished birds who only got seed before. Try to get
him on some commercial pellets as a regular part of his diet. Also try a chunk of
wheat bread, corn (frozen, thawed and warmed up), cooked cous cous or brown
rice, and keep offering the egg and veggies. Will he eat leaf spinach or lettuce if
hung in the cage fresh and wet?
