: She may have beak and feather disease or some other serious virus.  Unless you do 
: have her treated by a vet, she will probably die and unfortunatly, the other bird is at 
: risk too.  She may also have some kind of parasite.  Unless she sees a vet, it is 
: impossible to diagnose or treat her appropriately. The kindest thing may be to 
: euthanize her, sterilize the cage and hope your other bird doesn't get it.  Sorry 
: about the financial restrictions your family is facing.  Pets can be expensive.  I once 
: spent $1200 on a rescued cockatiel over a 4 year period!
