YEs you should be concerned. Are there any seed hulls on the cage floor? Are you sure he's not just eating when you aren't in the room? Was he weaned onto seed by the breeder? If he wasn't weaned, he may still be expecting hand feedings. Find out if he was eating seed at his last location. Place more seed dishes around, sprinkle seed on a paper towel on the floor of the cage, put in millet spray and also try a small chunk of wheat bread pushed between the bars, dry cereal (non-sugary), and a dish of defrosted, slightly warm veggies corn, peas, carrots, lima beans, etc.) with cooked brown rice or orzo pasta mixed in. I also feed my budgies moistened Zupreem fruitblend pellets for the superior nutrition as compared to seed, and you may try finger-feeding him some moist pellets. If he still refuses to eat, take him to the vet.
