I Have two cockatiels, one male, one female, and this is the first time she has begun to lay a egg. She's got only the one so far. Seeing as the male is still fairly young I am unsure of whether the eggs are fertile or not. She layed them at the bottom of the cage so I just added some shredded paper around the area, plus Ive given her some green vegetables and a calcium block (the calcium block being in the cage for some time now). She has not been sitting on the egg or been around it much for the entire time day she layed the egg; but I dont intend on moving the egg at least for a couple of weeks - from what Ive read online. What are the best things for me to do to make sure she lays her eggs properly? and how do I know when to remove them for certain - without causing her any distress, or to provoke any more egg laying? Thanks for your time
