: : : mother canary laid one of her two eggs. father had been removed a week ago as i didnt think ant thing had happened. i just put him back in with the family and he seems ok. is he ,do you think? also how long before the next egg ahtches? how long before the babies eat on their own and should i separate them? thank you so much

: : babies will fledge(leave the nest)around 3 weeks of age but still need the parent(s) to feed.i put my male in cage w/babies around 1 month or so and leave mother to rest or tend to new eggs.eggs hatch 16 days or so after laying.usually they hatch day after day.
