Hello, I have a question about a rather alarming change in my parakeet. She has always been an odd little bird, I have had her since she was about 2 months old. She is now 3, this month and since I have bought her a new cage last week, she has suddenly become so savage, that she actually attacks me, by leaping onto my hands when ever I try to feed her, change her cage, or even try to put a treat in her cup. She actually bites so savagely, that she breaks the skin. I have multiple bites on my hands. I literally had to fling her off my hand by shaking as she latched on to me with feet and beak. I felt horrible, fortunately, she was not hurt. I have never treated her with anything but kindness but I am ready to get rid of the little meat eater. I could never give her away in good conscience as I would feel horrible if someone else got savaged but what do I do? If it was the cage being new, I put her back into the old one? It was so small but wow.. what a change. I should mention, even for a bird, she is not very bright. She was almost 2 before she went on a flight and frequently, she will be sitting on her perch and simply fall off.. sigh.. only I can get such an odd little " duck" any suggestions? Thanks. Gypsy
