My roomates and I bought a parakeet last month. In the last couple of weeks, we have been noticing that he has some crusty, chunky things on the side and bottom of his lower beak. The blue part where his nostrils are, looks a little peely too. What could be causing this? He still has his appetite, but he doesn't want to come out of his cage like he used to and rarely makes any noises at all. Any suggestions?
