: How long will a parakeet be pregnet for? how can I get her into the box if she won't go by herself? And why does she keep eating the nesting box?

Michelle,
an egg developes inside the female but not so it is noticeable. then when the egg is ready they push it out and incubate it for two weeks. if your female is becomming visibly fatter by the day you should take her to the vet.

There is no way to force her into the next box you could try turning the cage or placeing the nest box in a different spot in the cage. Sometimes that makes all the difference. As far as chewing on the nest box parakeets chew on everything also it could be her way of prepareing the nest for when she lays her eggs.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Jodi
