After budgies pair off to breed and raise their young do they normally remain paired, or is it common for the male to also breed another female? I have quite a large cage which housed 4 budgies, but one died. The remaining 3 budgies are 1 male and 2 females. Two of them seemed to have formed a breeding pair but had been unsuccessful in hatching the eggs the first couple of tries. Now there is one 2 week old chick, but the male is also now breeding the other hen. Should I attach another next box to the opposite end of the cage?
