: : : Hi, I have a male parakeet and he IS a male. His cere was blue, but since I have brought in another male parakeet, my first male's cere is turning brown. Why? He is healthy, except for a brownish looking cere.

: : Hmm, i'm just wondering was this a dark blue cere?? Because if it was not then there is a big chance that there is nothing wrong with your parakeet and that he could in fact be a she. 

: Hi, the brown cere is now blue again, but a light blue. It is almost as if the brown has rubbed off. Anyway, he is a male for sure. He very often "mates" with his favorite toy. Yes, he is a male no doubt.
