: : I have a Spanish Timbrado canary.  While I got him almost 2 years ago, I suspect that he's about 3 years old now.   When I first brought him home, he molted at the end of the end of the summer.  However, he hasn't molted since, and his feathers are losing thier shiny, bright yellow color (rather, they look a little dull and pale yellow).  Otherwise, he seems perfectly happy and healthy.  What should I do for him?  Thanks!

: Canaries generally molt in July.  DO make sure that your bird receives the same light schedule as nature.  Lights should not go on in the bird's room before dawn.  Lights need to go off at sunset.  If that can't be done, then cover the cage with a large towel from dusk to dawn.
