: : My male canary flew out of a window this morning! We always let him fly around the house, but this time he flew outside, and we can't find him. We have his cage hanging outside where he flew out. My mother's canary did this too last summer, but after being out for a day and night, it flew back into it's cage the next morning. 
: : This one likes to fly around, and there are lots of big trees in our neighborhood. What can I do to get him back?

: This is one of many reasons that I DO NOT recommend that birds be allowed to fly around the house.

: DO place the cage in a place that is easily seen.  Place seed and water inside.  Hang the cage so that cats and dogs can't get to it.  You should also place notices around the neighborhood about the lost bird.
