: : I am trying to breed two pairs of parakeets (they each have their own cage). I originally had them in our living room, but with no success. I moved them into my bedroom (which is right near my living room) I try to keep the door closed so there isn't alot of noise but they still have not laid any eggs. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get them to breed? Does the noise matter? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

: Do you have a nest box installed?  Parakeets rarely breed without a nest box.

: In the wild, Keets live in large flocks.  It's often difficult to get one pair of birds to go to nest.  A separate cage with another pair of birds will encourage both to breed.
