Yep I agree, he's probably missing the other birds. Get him a canary recording or a wild bird sounds cassette. You might find one you can check out at a local library. I know that my male loves the tv and radio too. He's gets very squawky at the wild birds. Hey, if you have a male and only a male, I'd spend a LOT of time with him, talking to him. Not "repeatedly saying the same thing" but just talking. Mom had Cricket (my keet) for a long time before she let me keep him. He has a HUGE vocabulary and has a large range of various sounds. Not to mention that when he talks, you can tell who he's mimicing. He'll say certain things in Mom's voice (the things he learned to say from listening to her)and he says a few things in my voice. Not to mention he whistles like my Mom and then when I try a different whistle, he'll whistle one of Mom's whistles again like, "No, do it this way." He also laughs like my Mom and barks like my dog.
