My parakeet, who I've had for about five months, has been extremely exhuberant during the spring. He normally screams frequently when he hears other birds outside. Over the past week, he has become very quiet. He still chirps, but not as frequently and excitedly as he has been. Everything else has remained normal -- his eating, drinking, pooping, and playing. I took him to a vet (not an avian vet however) who said he was fine. Why the change in vocalization? Should I be concerned? The only thing I can think of is that many of the birds outside have migrated elsewhere for the summer (we're in TN where they are spraying for insects) so he's a little lonely now. Thanks for any advice you can offer.
