That would be fine...I am not a cockatoo expert by any means and have never owned one, but know lots of people who do and also work with several bird rescue and adoption groups in the Midwest, and therefore have learned alot about their pluses and negatives. Again, in the right home and with the right owner, they can be rewarding pets, however, not very many owners and set ups can give the bird everything it needs and continue to do so for the next 40 years. The average age for a cockatoo being relinquished to a rescue is about 7 years old...very young for a bird that can live decades. So most people can't manage them longer than just a few years. When they reach sexual maturity between 5-7 years old, that is often when the problems really begin ( screaming,, territorial aggression).
