Well canaries in general are not that kind of birds that intimately interact with their owners unlike parrots of example. Moreover, it is not recommended even to put two canaries in one cage except a male and a female in breeding season after taking into consideration certain precautions. Bold canary like yours should not be taken as an example of how a canary is. I stress again canaries are not social birds and they would be very happy in suitable cages with their owner giving them his or her attention and care as long as he or she knows his limits!
