: : I let one canary couple have one clutch of eggs, but removed the second laying and replaced them with glass ones.  When do I remove the nest and eggs?  She is still setting.  Also, I don't want her to have any more clutches.  Wiill removing the nesting stuff be sufficient or do I need to remove her mate also?  Thanks so much.  Liz

: I am not an expert about breeding but I would remove the nest and also put the male in a separate cage in the same room.  If she continues to lay eggs take them out and replace them with fake eggs such as marbles.
