: I let one canary couple have one clutch of eggs, but removed the second laying and replaced them with glass ones. When do I remove the nest and eggs? She is still setting. Also, I don't want her to have any more clutches. Wiill removing the nesting stuff be sufficient or do I need to remove her mate also? Thanks so much. Liz
Hello Liz:
I am not an expert about breeding but I would remove the nest and also put the male in a separate cage in the same room. If she continues to lay eggs take them out and replace them with fake eggs such as marbles.
Good Luck and please keep us posted.
Grace
