Can you give some reasons why you completely disagree with allowing them out? Keeping in mind that I am aware of household dangers and did not recommend carelessly allowing them to live outside the cage. Supervision is essential and again, making sure dangers such as open toilets, ceiling fans, windows, unsafe plants and of course cats, dogs and children are controlled for. By the way, my canary is not interacting with the hookbills, but is exploring some of their play areas and the living room, so I am not implying he is "socializing" with the other birds. Since my last post, I watched this canary snoop around in my desk, checking out the cubby holes where i have papers etc. I wonder if you can site specific incidents you have experienced which would make you absolutely not think this would be typical of other canaries? This canary was not hand raised, came to me with a mate at approximately one year of age in a tiny cage, and has not been handled prior to coming to me. So I don't know why he is considered so unique...curious to discuss this further....
