If you've never had a cockatoo, you need to really research them carefully, as they
are pets that will change your life totally, and maybe not for the best. I have a
friend with a bare-eyed, and he is challenging in many ways. When I was thinking
of getting a cockatoo, she talked me out of it. I am sure many people love their
'toos, but on the other side of the coin, cockatoos are the number one bird given up
into bird rescues due to their incredibly loud voices, aggression, feather plucking
and other neurotic traits. Unless you have many hours a day to spend with the bird
and a large enough home for a huge cage and play area, and don't mind screaming,
and tons of feather dust, then don't get a cockatoo...
