: Canary clutches average 5 eggs, but 8 are possible.  After the fourth egg, you can replace the ones removed.

: I don't recommend removing eggs.  There's a risk of losing eggs  from improper storage and/or handling.  Hens generally raise the entire clutch without removing the eggs.  Even if a weak late hatching chick fails to survive, that's better than spoiling all the eggs.
