: My keets are about to hatch their first batch. I want to raise tame birds and was told that I should hand feed them for best results. Is this true? If so, at what point should I begin to feed the babies?

Though possible, it's not easy to hand feet budgies. To obtain a tame bird, most often the youngster is separated from other birds as soon as it leaves the nest.

Budgies prefer the company of their own kind. It's rare for one to become or stay tame when kept with other birds.
