: I have a male budgie who is about seven months old.  He is hand trained and will sit on my shoulder, head, etc., and spends about four hours with me out of the cage every day.  I've been thinking recently about getting another budgie, but I was wondering how this might affect mine's behavior.  If I have two, will they still play with me, or will they focus only on each other?  If I keep them separated at first, will this help?  I don't want to get another if my first will then begin to ignore me.  What do you think?
