: I just got a cockatiel from someone that left her alone for 8 to 10 hrs. a day. She has eaten nothing but seeds for two or three years. I have had her a week and she is eating well and her droppings are pretty firm. Does anyone know why she is still puffing up duing the day?  Can she just be stressed?  I can really use some advice. I want to take care of her and make her happy. I need to know if she will adjust after being alone so much. She seeems to be friendly, just a bit nervous.
