: : Today my female started to lift her tail towards my male and started whistling this soft whistle I never heard before. The thing is, my male tried to get on her, but she got mad and pecked at him. I'm guessing she wants to mate, but why won't she accept the male?

: Oh, and I also wanted to ask: Will they will eventually mate?

Sunee,
Yes, both your birds will mate. My parakeets started doing that too. First the male will start singing that you have never heard before, he will be close to the female and will bob his head up and down. The Male will first try to get one leg on top of the female's wing; sometimes the males get nervous, so they get off, and the female starts pecking at him. I have experienced this before; i saw my birds mate 3 times, and i was right next to them. If you want to see your birds mate, then get a chair, and look at them (don't move, or they will get scared). Well, yes your birds will eventually mate, if they are beginners, then they have these type of problems.

Good Luck,
Sergio
