: My 10 week old female cockatiel's droppings have changed and I don't know if it's bad or not. They used to be dark green and formed a coil. Now they are a greenish yellow and look slimy. There is also much more urine in them now. Is this bad or could it be her diet. The breeder I got her from said she was weened, but she was not, and would not eat. I took her to an avian vet to be tube fed until she started eating well on her own. Per the vet's recommendation, I had to give her lots of table food that she liked (mostly cereal and eggs scrambled with fruit and vegetables ground up and cooked into them) until she started eating seed, pellets and treats. Now she eats like a trooper but the change in her droppings has me wondering. I keep a close eye on her and she is no longer showing any signs of being sick, so I don't quite know what to do. She does not have a soiled vent and now has a very healthy appetite. Can you tell me anything on this? Have you changed the bird's diet recently? If you've fed more fruit or vegetables than usual, the bird will have loose droppings. If the condition does not quickly improve, or if any other signs of illnes are observed, immediately consult a veterinarian.
