: I'm just starting to pair off some of the canaries that i would like to breed, but was wondering whether i was able to have two hens in the one avairy with one cock, or would they all fight? This won't work. Put the hens in separate cages. Place the male with one of the hens. The day after mating has been observed, place him with the other hen. This way, one male can be bred with a number of females. Unless you are in the southern hempisphere, the breeding season isn't until April. If the birds are showing signs of wanting to breed, you have them on the wrong light schedule. See the Link for more information.
