In Reply to: Why parakeet pushes eggs out of nest? posted by Chrysmore on August 30, 2004 at 10:58:31:
: I have four parakeets and one of the female parakeets pushes out her eggs out of the nest. This is the second time she has done that. Is that normal? Please help!! Is the pair in a cage by themselves? If not, then place the pair in their own cage. Keep them in the same room as the other birds. Hens also might destroy eggs because of disturbances and/or vermin infestations. Make sure that the room is relatively quiet. Don't allow dogs or cats to bother the birds. Also make sure that rats or mice are not in the room. Keets, finches, and canaries need to be sprayed once a week with an avian insecticide that contains .05% pyrethrin as the active ingredient. For more information, see the Link.
