: what is the ideal temperature for budgies? i live in south florida and prefer to keep the cage out in the terrace.there is no direct sunlight , it is enclosed and screened. it does get hot ...average summer temp. is 80-85 degrees Farenheit. I do have an high overhead fan that blows a very mild breeze to move the air a bit. Thanks! Whatever is OK for you, will be OK for the birds. If the temperature goes well over 90F, then it would be better to place the birds in a cooler location. You must be very careful with fans or air conditioning. A continuous direct draft on a bird can cause illness even on a fairly warm day. DO make sure that the birds have fresh water! 80F is a good temperature for keets. Again, anything that is comfortable for you will be OK for the birds.
