Well, Rollers have a variety of tones, many different rolls and flutes. Rollers MUST sing with closed mouth. By the way, I was lucky enough to find a new outstanding Roller (Yellow Variegated). His songs are VERY special and I have never heard this style of Roller singing before. So yes, each Roller has his own singing style as long as he keeps his mouth closed during singing. : : I just listened to a mp3 clip of a roller singing however, and it doesn't sound at all like Bert. The sounds Bert makes are "week!", "si-si-wu!", and occasionally a sound that is reminiscent of the laugh of a loon. The near continuous warbling of the bird in the mp3 didn't sound anything like any of the sounds I've heard Bert make. : He does appear to sing through his nose though, with his mouth closed. : Do rollers have a fixed song, or does it vary between individuals?
