Hey there Timothy!!

First of all thanks for your prompt response!
I downloaded a manual about parakeets yesterday and I flipped out, I though I was doing
everything wrong.
Susi seems to enjoy being moved from the dinning room to the living room in the am's (8:00 am)
she spreads her wings sideways when she sees me and starts singing vividly.
She spend all the day in the living room but at night so I think she should be ok too:)
I am going to start covering her cage from dusk to dawn, I want the best for her!!
I was thinking to permanently place her cage in my bedroom but since I don't spend much time
there (just to sleep), I don't want her to be by herself all day, you know?
Is the TV too noisy for a bird?, do parakeets have good hearing?.
Since I don't have a stand (I need to get one pronto!) I place the cage on a barstool
I hope that is ok!!
How do I get her to play with me?, I want her to go on my hand, eat from it, talk.. but
I don't know how. It has been a week since we rescued, do you think I should wait until she
feels comfy with me?.
She loves those granola honey seed bars.. I bought one on Sunday.. But I decided to take it
away from her because all she ate was that, she didn't even touch her other food (regular seeds)
I have given her lettuces and a slice of apple today.. but she doesn't seem interested..
Is there anything I can do about that?
I went to the pet store and I saw that the birs had wood pellets at the bottom instead of
that special sand.. so I bought it and I put it at the bottom of her cage, my question is..
does she still need the other stuff?
When I bought the cage the perches came with sand paper rolls, I roll them around the 2
perches.. did I do right?, or ar those for a different purpose?
Should I let her out of the cage to fly around sometime (IN the house)
You said that it is dangerous for her to go outside, so I am not doing it anymore, I don't
want her to get sick!
I know this is a very long post.. and you have already helped me out.. but I just want the
best for her.
Sorry for asking all this questions!!
Have a nice day!! (weekend and memorial day if I don't "see" you around:))

: It would be a lot simpler to install the cage on a wall in a well-lit room that is relatively quiet, but is occupied by people during the day.
: If the location is slightly above your eye level, that often works out best (if you are not trying to hand tame a bird).

: If you and the bird both enjoy carrying the cage around during the day, then continue to do so.

: Putting a cage outside is very dangerous. If the little guy can't get out of direct sun or a draft, death might be the result.
: Unless the cage is in a very secure location, you're turning this keet into a "sitting duck" for an attack by a predator.
: Also, it seems that the bird escaped once before. If it gets out of the cage, it's unlikely that you'll ever find the bird again.

: It's best to cover the cage from dusk to dawn. But, if you consistently cover the cage from 10PM to when you get up in the
: morning, that will be OK.

: : Hi everyone!

: : A parakeet flew in my husband's office, with a lot of help we placed her in a box with holes so she could breath. I bought her a cage 3 hours after we got her, It has been a week and I think she is very happy:)
: : I have a few questions though (excuse my ignorance, I have never had a parakeet before). I read that the cage should be placed in only one place and should not be moved or the parakeet will get upset and disoriented. I usually place the cage in the living room (from 9-6 pm) so she can have some sun, around 12:00 am I put the cage outside so she can have some fresh air (Don't put the cage out when it is cold.. just when it is sunny and warm), she seems to enjoy it because when she is outside she sings loudly!!. My question is.. is this recomendable for parakeets?.
: : Around 6:00 pm I move her cage to the dinning table to keep her away from the loud sound of the tv.
: : I cover her cage with a towel around 10:00 pm.. is that late?, if so what time is the best for her to go to sleep??.
: : I have more questions lol.. but I will ask later.
: : Thank you so much for you time!!
