It would be a lot simpler to install the cage on a wall in a well-lit room that is relatively quiet, but is occupied by people during the day. If you and the bird both enjoy carrying the cage around during the day, then continue to do so. Putting a cage outside is very dangerous. If the little guy can't get out of direct sun or a draft, death might be the result. It's best to cover the cage from dusk to dawn. But, if you consistently cover the cage from 10PM to when you get up in the : Hi everyone! : A parakeet flew in my husband's office, with a lot of help we placed her in a box with holes so she could breath. I bought her a cage 3 hours after we got her, It has been a week and I think she is very happy:)
