Keet nest boxes generally are made of wood. I've seen them made of metal with a wood base inside.

Keets don't weave nests like many birds. Adding a handful of sawdust, pine shavings, or cedar shavings to the nest box will help to keep it clean.

The female keet won't appear pregnant. Before laying eggs, the hen will start to stay inside the nest box.

Yes, even when with a mate, eggs might not be fertile. If a male is not present, a hen can still lay eggs. These, of course, will never be fertile.
