I have a parakeet who is egg bound. I noticed this
on Wednesday of last week and tried a few "home remedies"
that didn't work. I took her to an avian vet on Thursday
morning. They've injected her with Calcium shots, and anti-
inflammatories. We've waited through the weekend and still
no egg! The vet said the only other option would be
to operate but they do not like to do this because the
birds usually don't make it. I'm not sure what to do
and would love the advice from anyone. I want to do
everything to help my bird she is only 5 years old. My
family thinks I should have her put to sleep and not
spend $100 for surgery that may not work, but I don't
know if I can make that decision. Any advice?
