: hi, i am a canary keeper in the UK and am desperately hoping that someone can help with my canary query. my canary, which is kept indoors, has been moulting for the past couple of weeks. he has not been singing as often as usual which i understand can happen. he also is not quite as active and seems generally quieter. he is still eating and drinking well. oh yes, he also seems to be sleeping more. i have consulted my local vet who didn't really seem to know what to suggest except for keeping an eye on him.i have searched via google on uk websites without much luck so have now gone further afield. is it usual for there to be some behavioural changes when moulting, and if so, how do you know when, or if, it could be something more serious? apologies for going on, any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated. thank you!
