: : I purchased a canaries that was singing just great in the pet store. About 2 weeks later he hardly sings at all he is very livily jumping around in his cage. he opens his mouth, but only little peep come out. Once in a great while he will sing, but it is very low.

: The cage should be against a wall and slightly above your eye level.  Make sure that there are no loud noises, pets or children scaring the bird.

: Proper rest is very important for all birds.  The bird needs the same number of hours of light and dark as occur in nature.  If there is a light or television on in the room at night, cover the bird's cage with a towel.

: Diet is EXTREMELY important!  See should be vitamin, mineral, and protein enriched.  Each day, the bird needs a small amount of fresh food.  See the Link for more information.
