: My female canary laid 4 eggs, it's been 21 days since the first and she has sat on them constantly. When held up to a light the first one looked fertile, but now they are clear with a glob of solid on the one side. Should i remove them from the nest and put the male back in to try again or should i just give up for the season? Remove the eggs and place the male back in the cage. By the way, there's no need to separate the male from the female after mating. In fact, the male will help feeding the nestlings. Diet is extremely important. The seed mix should be vitamin, mineral, and protein enriched. Also, do give fresh food every day.
